Today we had a test run in the TV Studio to see how the green screen would work as none of us have ever had to edit a green screen before. As you can see in the pictures, it didn't work out like we wanted it to as the curtain had creases in it, which created shadows in the background, resulting in the colour change failing. Next time we will try to stretch the curtains apart in order to avoid this from happening.

Team meeting
As we were discussing our different locations and where we planned to shoot, we attracted one of the assistant helpers, who helped us come to the realisation that some of our locations won't work. This is due to the fact that we decided some scenes would be set in the studio, while others would be outside. We realized that this would be a problem as the studio background and the the other settings outside may not work well together, as there is a high chance of them clashing. We also realized that none of the music videos we studied had shot in both the studio, and outside, which makes it look more professional. He then went on to showing us this music video, which is set in one place, this was when we decided that we had to stick to one place, either outside or inside, not both.

Request email - Permission to film at Olympic Park by Jessie
One of my team members, Jessie, has emailed Olympic Park, asking for permission to film on their premises. We are yet to receive a response back from them.
However, since Leake street (our other location) is a public area, there is no need to request permission in order to film there.
RECCES - Pictures of Leake street and Waterloo tunnel by Iptihal
We have chosen to use Leake street due to the following reasons:
- The graffiti in Leake street allows the Afro Beats genre to be represented, as Afro Beat songs are known to reflect vibrancy, fun and liveliness, making Leake street a perfect location.
- I like the lighting in the area, as it is not dull, which is what we are trying to avoid. As you can see, the tunnel is lit up quite well, making it easier for us when we edit as there wont be much colour correcting having to be done.
- We also chose the location as it is not far and we can easily get there.
- Since it is an open area, there is no permission required in order to film there.
The reasons we chose Olympic Park are:
- It allows us to get across the message that the main artist(s) is based in London
- The lighting is perfect in showing the vibrancy of Afro Beats
- The park is big, therefore allowing us to have a variety of different loctions and scenery's to shoot from

Team meeting
Today we started to think about which location we would like to shoot in, using our case studies as inspiration. We also thought about the different roles each person in the group will have as well as which days we can start to shootvour music video on.

Team meeting - Group music video inspirations
Today we continued to look at the two music videos, 'Kwamz and flava - Take Over' and 'P Square - Taste the money (testimony)'. We continued to agree that we like the idea that, even though the genre of the song is afrobeats, the music video is quite modern through the way they are dressed and the way they are dancing. This creates a nice mix of both African and modern culture, allowing the song and music video to be appealing to almost everyone.

Start on story boards
In class today me and my group started working on ideas of what we would like to see in our music videos, as well as what order of these idea's we would like to go with. After this discussion, we began to put together our story boards, so we have a visual idea of what our music video will look like.
