Our music video pitch

This is our music video pitch where we shared all our idea's for our music video with our class. We received a lot of positive and negative feedback on our music video. These are some of the constructive feedback that we took away with us and that we are going to consider when we continue editing:
- Our teacher advised us to keep the video simple since we want to make it performance based. She advised us to have a maximum of 5/6 dancers, otherwise it will look too much and will be hard to enjoy.
- Since we wanted to keep the people taking part in the video wearing casual clothing that are common to see in today's society, one of our class mates suggested that maybe we could add a hint of tradition in there by having a few shots of dancers dressed up in cultural clothing. since then, we have thought about maybe considering adding some traditional clothing in their, whether it be a scarf or dashiki's.

Team meeting on music video ideas

Today in lesson we had to think about the different song ideas we can choose from. It was quite difficult due to our different ideas that we had thought of before coming together as a group. Luckily, we all have the same taste in music and we all pitched in our ideas and came to a conclusion. We have chosen the song 'Dance For Me - Eugy X Mr Eazi.' It is an Afro Beat song, and well known, making it easy to find people who are willing to participate in it, and people that would know the lyrics to it. Furthermore, it would be easy on our part to make a video on it since one of our team members is part of a dance enrichment, so she will be able to ask anyone if they are willing to take part in dancing within our music video.

Practice Music Video - J Hus Friendly

WHAT WENT WELL:

- The lighting and the camera shots are much better than my last practice music video, and I would like to incorporate that into my actual music video.
- We kept the camera still at all times instead of tilting it and zooming in at times, as it looks much better when kept still.
- We managed to get lots of co-operative people to take part in our music video, making the video enhance the song a lot more.

WHAT I CAN IMPROVE:

- We didn't record enough footage as we had to cut a bit of the song towards the end to fit the footage we had, and we also had to record some footage last minute while we were editing, slightly losing the fun vibe we had created, so next time, we will try to get as much footage as possible so this doesn't happen again.
- I also feel that we had too many different people in the music video, so we will try to cut it down and keep it to a minimum of 6-7 people.
- We didn't get the chance to play around with editing, as we only managed to get in cutting shots, which can be something we might try with our actual video.
